NBA Odds: Sixers Visit Minnesota PointSpreads WAGERLINES
Jimmy Butler can expect a rough welcome this Saturday when his Philadelphia 76ers (47-27 SU, 34-40 ATS) visit his former employers, the Minnesota Timberwolves (33-41 SU, 35-39 ATS). Game time is 8 PM ET on NBA-TV. Butler started the year with Minnesota, but forced a trade out of town - throwing his teammates under the bus in the process.
The move to Philadelphia has improved Butler's chances of winning a title, but his level of play has dropped off since joining the Sixers, and Butler's effect on team chemistry remains an ongoing concern. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves have pretty much fallen apart since the Butler trade; head coach Tom Thibodeau lost his job soon afterwards and was replaced by interim coach Ryan Saunders. Player-wise, Robert Covington, one of the pieces joining the Wolves from Philadelphia, got hurt on New Year's Eve and hasn't played since. Karl-Anthony Towns is still performing at an MVP level, and Derrick Rose has resuscitated his career, but Rose (elbow) has been shut down for the rest of the season, and Andrew Wiggins, Minnesota's other former No. 1 overall pick, looks like a bust now that he's having the worst of his five years in the NBA.
