The Montreal Canadiens have been playing playoff-like hockey for the last two weeks and that'll continue this Tuesday when the Habs welcome the NHL-leading Tampa Bay Lightning to town. At press, Montreal sits one point behind the Carolina Hurricanes for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and will need to take every point they can in order to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Tampa Bay has been on cruise control for the past two weeks after clinching the President's Trophy as the top team in the NHL standings in mid-March. Tampa hasn't been playing any meaningful games for nearly half of a month and are at risk of losing momentum in advance of the First Round of the playoffs. With a Montreal team that's playing for their post-season lives, Tuesday will be a test of intensity for Tampa Bay. Montreal is coming off of an enormous 3-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday night. Jeff Petry (13 goals, 32 assists) scored the game winner to add to his career year scoring totals. With just three games remaining on the season and one point back of a playoff spot, Tuesday now becomes the most important game of the Canadiens' season. NHL Odds Lines Spreads |
