NFL

After a hard-earned week off, the New Orleans Saints (3-2 SU, 2-3 ATS) are back on the gridiron this Sunday to host the Carolina Panthers (3-3 SU and ATS) in a key NFC South matchup. The Saints are 7.5-point favorites on Bovada’s Week 7 NFL odds board; kick-off from the Superdome is at 1 PM ET on Fox.

This will be Teddy Bridgewater’s first chance to show his former employers what they’re missing. Bridgewater helped New Orleans stay in the playoff hunt last year when starting QB Drew Brees got injured, leading them to five straight wins at 5-0 ATS before returning to the bench. Although Bridgewater is performing just as well this year, his teammates on defense and special teams are having a hard time keeping up; they fell 23-16 to the Chicago Bears on Sunday as 1.5-point home favorites.

It hasn’t been smooth sailing for Brees and the Saints. Their defense and special teams have been excellent, but as he approaches 42 years old, Brees is starting to show his age a little. Getting WR Michael Thomas back on the field should help, after he missed three games with an ankle injury and was suspended.
