With this club seeing such fat spreads, the Bulldogs were only 12-11 against the spread this year. Baylor is next on the board at +371, followed by Michigan at +472, and Illinois at +492. There hasn’t been as much love for Michigan as we’d expected as their odds have shifted significantly after being around +390 last week. After that there’s a big jump to the next tier of teams including Iowa at +1500 and Oklahoma State and Alabama at +1900. As usual, there is a lot of interest in the No. 5 vs. No. 12 matchups. These games have seen a lot of upsets over the years and this time around the betting public is all over the underdogs. All four No. 12 seeds are seeing at least 70 per cent of the pointspread handle to cover. No. 12 Winthrop is a 6.5-point underdog against Villanova, Oregon State is at +9 against Tennessee, Georgetown is +5.5 against Colorado, and UC Santa Barbara is +7 against Creighton. Georgetown is the most popular of all of the No. 12 seeds, seeing better than 80 per cent of early wagers. Winthrop is definitely worth a look, too.
