NFL Odds: Cleveland Browns vs. New England Patriots

Don’t stick that fork in the New England Patriots just yet. After three straight wins, the Patriots (5-4 SU and ATS) find themselves just one game out of first place in the division they used to own: the AFC East. They’ll host the Cleveland Browns (also 5-4 SU and ATS) this Sunday at 1 PM ET on CBS, with the Patriots pegged as 1.5-point favorites at Bovada Sportsbook and the total at 45.

New England’s success thus far is mostly due to defense and special teams, although rookie QB Mac Jones has improved as the season has worn on. Jones has three touchdown passes and one pick combined during this three-game winning streak; he’s also been sacked just four times, thanks in part to the blocking of TE Hunter Henry, who also leads the team with four TD catches.

The Browns come into this contest off a convincing 41-16 win over the Cincinnati Bengals (–2 at home), one that saw QB Baker Mayfield throw two TD passes and RB Nick Chubb rush for another two majors. This was after Cleveland decided to release WR Odell Beckham Jr after he complained about Mayfield not being up to snuff.
