Tom Brady and Bill Belichick will be on opposite sidelines

Tom Brady and Bill Belichick will be on opposite sidelines for the first time this Sunday night when Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers visit the New England Patriots. Game time is 8:20 PM ET on NBC, with the defending champions pegged as 6.5-point road favorites and the total set at 52.5.

Brady didn’t get to face his former coach last year when he won his seventh Super Bowl ring, and his first since leaving New England as a free agent in March 2020. Life has been more difficult for Belichick without his star quarterback; the Patriots missed the playoffs last season with Cam Newton under center, and they’re off to a 1-2 start SU and ATS this year behind rookie Mac Jones.

The Buccaneers are 2-1 SU and 1-2 ATS thus far, but they’ll be in a foul mood after the Los Angeles Rams (+1 at home) beat them 34-24 in Week 3. Matthew Stafford ventilated Tampa’s defense for four touchdown passes, while Brady was held to two TDs (one rushing, one passing) despite racking up 432 yards through the air. The Bucs’ secondary took yet another hit when CB Jamel Dean left the game with a knee injury.
